Communication is important in the life of every individual, whether at home, in the workplace, or in an educational setting. Technology allows communication via keyboard.
Keyboards are essential in transmitting messages and data. While computer may have different function keys and configurations of keys used to initialize various functions — data entry, text editing, information retrieval, and programming—the location of the alphanumeric keys is standard on most keyboards.
Most keyboards have a QWERTY layout. However, there are several more common types of keyboard’s layout which are used worldwide, such as AZERTY, QWERTZ, DVORAK…etc.
Many keyboards have additional keys. Function keys are used to send specific instructions to the CPU. A numeric keypad is located on the keyboards of most systems and is used to input numbers and give additional instructions to the CPU. On most keyboards, special operation keys such as the control and alternate keys perform many functions when used alone or in conjunction with other keys.
